Festivals and events are busy times in the city, especially if you need somewhere to stay. Book luxury accommodation right in the heart of the action in Pembroke Kilkenny Hotel. With comfortable guest rooms, fantastic dining and a genuinely warm welcome, Pembroke Hotel Kilkenny offers the ideal event accommodation in Kilkenny. Here are some of the main events we’re looking forward to this March & April:

March

March is a time to celebrate all things Irish! St. Patrick’s Festival starts on Wednesday 15th March and runs until 19th March with fantastic events on every day to celebrate. Enjoy street entertainment, a festival market, a big wheel, vintage carousel, evening fireworks and much more.
Running alongside the St Patrick’s celebrations, Tradfest returns to Kilkenny. With an emphasis on Irish music, Tradfest will be packed with Irish music, céilís, sessions, Irish dance, pub gigs and much more! With performers from across the country and some very special overseas guests, it’s a unique opportunity to experience live music in some of Kilkenny’s most historic places.
On St. Patrick’s Day, we’ll have a tasty food & drink offer available 12pm to 5pm, plus a special St. Patrick’s Day cocktail available all weekend long. The perfect accompaniment to the free Trad Trail trad sessions & gigs in Statham’s Bar on 18th & 19th March. Sláinte!

April

April brings Easter and all of the fun and frolics that come with a long weekend. Take your family to one of Kilkenny’s longest-running easter events, the Nore Valley Easter Egg Hunt and make some great memories. The Easter Egg Hunt runs from Saturday 1st to Sunday 9th April 2023 and it’s easier to book a slot mid-week than holding on for the busy weekend. Celebrate Easter at the Pembroke Hotel in Kilkenny where there are plenty of fun activities to enjoy and great family breaks to suit visitors of all ages.
Kilkenny Roots Festival returns to the city from 28th April to 1st May 2023 and promises to be bigger and better than ever. Roots is Ireland’s leading Roots/Americana festival and has been a bedrock of the May Bank Holiday weekend for 25 years now. Over four days, a wide range of Irish and international acts will perform in venues throughout Kilkenny city, some of which are ticketed, with the majority of gigs free of charge. It’s one of the busiest times in the city so book your accommodation early to avoid disappointment.
