The Statham’s Pre-War Run in association with the Irish Vintage & Veteran Car Club arrived to Kilkenny on the 6th & 7th of May. A group of almost 100 guests attended with their most prized possessions – a stunning collection of vintage cars dating before the second World War 1930 – 1939. The group arrived at the Pembroke on Saturday afternoon, following a leisurely drive from Kildare. Our valet, James, was on-hand to direct cars to our secure car parking facilities. Those driving had worked up a thirst on the way and quickly headed for cold pints of Guinness, while the ladies sampled our Ford Special Old-Fashioned cocktail before a rooftop prosecco reception overlooking Kilkenny Castle, followed by a party in our private venue our famous casual dining party food and live music.
Sunday was an early start, departing the hotel at 10am to take in some of Ireland’s Ancient East and the scenic Kilkenny countryside including Kells Museum, Kells Country Market & Craft Fair and Tullaherin Round Tower. The group returned to the hotel for a final meet-up over lunch and then headed home.
